People are buying houses in NC unaware of ‘forever chemicals’ in their well water BY GREG BARNES NORTH CAROLINA HEALTH NEWS JANUARY 6, 2020 No one told Army veteran Carter Bryant about groundwater contamination near the Chemours Fayetteville Works plant when he bought a home there in July. Bryant said he knew almost nothing about GenX and other per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances — commonly known as PFAS or “forever chemicals” — before he and his family moved in.
