Join SERDP and ESTCP on Thursday, December 10 for a webinar featuring DoD-funded research efforts to measure and manage contaminated sediments. First, Dr. Mandy Michalsen of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will present her work to develop and validate a standardized polymeric sampler method for quantifying freely-dissolved organic contaminant concentrations of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls in sediment porewater. Second, Mr. Gunther Rosen of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific will summarize his work performing long-term monitoring of an activated carbon amendment remedy to reduce polychlorinated biphenyl availability in surface sediment with a focus on results and conclusions seven years after remedy implementation.
