'Shocked and saddened': Greenland blasts Coakley Landfill Group for alleged PFAS failures by Jeff McMenemy Portsmouth Herald (NH) April 28, 2021 GREENLAND – Board of Selectmen Chair Steve Smith released a letter criticizing Coakley Landfill Group officials about recent flippant comments and inaction regarding environmental threats at the Superfund cleanup site. In a letter to New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) Commissioner Robert Scott, Smith shares that he and Town Administrator Matthew Scruton remotely attended a recent Coakley Landfill Group (CLG) meeting to hear about ongoing studies at the landfill. “We were shocked and saddened by the flippant way these topics were casually addressed by the CLG during the meeting,” Smith said. “Our community has, through no fault of our own, been subject to pollution and health hazards from the Coakley Landfill and we deserve better from the CLG.” … For the entire article, see https://www.seacoastonline.com/story/news/local/2021/04/28/pfas-landfill-greenland-nh-demands-coakley-group-do-more-contain/7396161002/ — Lenny Siegel Executive Director Center for Public Environmental Oversight A project of the Pacific Studies Center LSiegel@cpeo.org P.O.
