PA lawmakers ask Biden to stop National Guard PFAS permit appeal By Chris Ullery Bucks County Courier Times (PA) May 11, 2021 Without a federal or state standard for PFAS contamination, Pennsylvania lawmakers are pushing President Biden to direct the Air National Guard to withdraw an appeal to a permit capping PFAS limits at 70 parts per trillion. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in March approved a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit capping levels of the unregulated chemicals found at the former Willow Grove Air Naval Station to 70 parts per trillion. Water discharged from the former base goes into an unnamed tributary of Park Creek, which then flows into Neshaminy Creek that flows through Bucks County . State Reps. Todd Stephens, R-151, of Horsham; Meghan Schroeder, R-29, of Buckingham; and Todd Polinchock, R-144, of Warrington, sent a joint letter to Biden last week chastising the Air National Guard's appeal calling the cap “impermissible.” … For the entire article, see https://www.buckscountycouriertimes.com/story/news/2021/05/11/pfas-discharge-permit-appealend-pennsylvania-lawmakers-willow-grove-air-station-unwell-water/5019704001/ — Lenny Siegel Executive Director Center for Public Environmental Oversight A project of the Pacific Studies Center LSiegel@cpeo.org P.O.
