City Takes Action to Protect Cabaniss Field from Encroachment City of Corpus Christi, TX NOVEMBER 01, 2022 CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette Guajardo and the City Council approved the acquisition of a restrictive use easement to protect flight training operations at Cabaniss Field, a Navy Outlying Field for Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. The restrictive use easement in a runway Clear Zone will secure a 52.03-acre site to prevent incompatible land development. The easement property is the sole remaining property in the Clear Zone not owned or controlled by the U.S. Navy. The City would hold title to the easement and be responsible for enforcing the terms of the easement.
