Lincoln's defunct missile site contamination has spread By Carol Feineman Gold Country Media (CA) January 19, 2023 A 46-acre white elephant in Lincoln that no one is publicly talking about needs to be addressed by Lincoln, county, regional and federal officials. The elephant is the defunct, contaminated Lincoln Titan 1 Missile Silo Complex that operated from 1962 to 1965. The former missile site at 401 Oak Tree Lane, one-and-a-half miles east of downtown Lincoln, is contaminated with trichloroethylene or TCE, benzene, lead and xylenes.
