Titan Missile Site Remediation Committee discusses contamination issues with Lincoln residents By Veronica Catlin Gold Country Media March 15, 2023 Nearly 600 concerned citizens attended a March 8 presentation to talk about the next steps to clean up toxic chemicals at the Lincoln Titan 1 Missile Silo Complex in Sun City Lincoln Hills. Some of those chemicals include benzene, lead and xylenes, and trichloroethylene or TCE. A TCE plume has spread from the missile site to properties on the other side of Oak Tree Lane and is moving closer to Sun City Lincoln Hills homes, according to a Jan. 19 Lincoln News Messenger article, “Lincoln's defunct missile site contamination has spread.” The contamination was discovered in 1991.
