Subject: [CPEO-MEF] PSC's Biannual Ask for Donations

The Pacific Studies Center and our principal project, the Center for Public Environmental Oversight, remain “in business,” but in these troubled times we need tax-deductible contributions to cover our overhead.

·      We are conducting research, advocacy, training, and technical assistance on PFAS “forever chemicals,” with a focus on the semiconductor industry.

·      We are conducting research, advocacy, and technical assistance on vapor intrusion and other issues related to TCE, PCE, and similar contaminants.

·      We continue to monitor and publicize environmental issues related to the U.S. military.

·      We maintain two free newsgroups – the Military Environmental Forum and the Brownfields Internet Forum – as well as a number of activist discussion lists.

·      We retain our unique collection of documents and files pertaining primarily to military environmental issues and Silicon Valley.

·      We write about the history, politics, and social conditions of Silicon Valley, which I now call “Billionaire Valley.”

·      We continue to provide support for the Stanford alumni activist cohort. We sponsored a successful in-person reunion in May, 2024.

Consulting income has slowed to a trickle, and with current political conditions even that is at risk. I am not taking a salary, but we still count on donations to cover our $2,000/month overhead, which is mostly rent for our library.

We won’t deluge you with repeat messages. PSC sends out no more than two fund appeals twice a year. If you’re on more than one of our lists, you’ll get a maximum of two per list.

So please consider sending a tax-deductible contribution. Contributions may be made by check, made out to PSC and mailed to P.O. Box 998Mountain View, CA 94042, or on line at http://www.cpeo.org/donate.html.
