and furthermore, it sounds like contaminants that were once
concentrated in Bemidji (which did not want or need them) are now
spread all over the country -- in Michigan, in Utah (and whereever the
incinerator emissions and ash end up), in Kentucky and in yet another
town in Minnesota (which probably do not want or need them either) . . .
epa doesn't seem to get that "There is no 'away'" for this stuff
so now Bemidji is marginally cleaner, maybe, while four other
locations are now dirtier
this is an improvement ??

This is an interesting announcement in that EPA is claiming they have
accomplished a redevelopment of a brownfield when all that has occurred is
that EPA completed a routine soil removal action for $750,000. If the
announcement is correct, there was no redevelopment and certainly no end
user. EPA has merely left behind a vacant lot with a lot less soil.
