[CPEO-BIF] Region 9 Interim Action Levels for TCE in Indoor Air

On June 30 U.S. EPA's Region 9 (Southwest and Pacific) Superfund Program issued a memo, "EPA Region 9 Interim Action Levels and Response Recommendations to Address Potential Developmental Hazards Arising from Inhalation Exposures to TCE in Indoor Air from Subsurface Vapor Intrusion." It is similar, but not identical to a December 2013 letter from Region 9 to the Bay Area Regional Water Quality Control Board.

We're still waiting for EPA headquarters to issue a national memo. While the requirement to address the short-term, non-cancer risk for TCE in indoor air is already embodied in CERCLA, RCRA, and state statutes, all parties would benefit from a national implementation memo similar to what Region 9 has put forward.
