Brownfield program at risk following Cuomo veto

A deep pool of local development projects are at risk following the
surprise veto of a statewide program that offers incentives for
remediating brownfield sites.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo vetoed an extender bill that would have kept
brownfield cleanup program incentives in place through March 2017 - a
move that would have allowed for further negotiation between the
governor's economic development team and state lawmakers on ways to
make the legislation move forward for at least another 10 years.
The brownfield tax credits have been used successfully in the
economic development tool chest of incentives in Buffalo and other
Upstate cities.
