[Brownfields-CPEO] Addressing contamination at the new school site

The Los Altos School District is building a much-needed campus in the San Antonio district of Mountain View, California, at the corner of California Street and Showers Drive. The state’s Department of Toxic Substance Control is proposing a Removal Action Workplan that appropriately addresses naturally occurring asbestos on the site but which fails to require vapor intrusion mitigation to protect future students from tetrachloroethylene (PCE) soil vapor that originated from a former dry cleaner across California Street.
