Hello all:

Anyone from Utah may be interested in the following comments made by Rep. Jim
Hansen (R-Utah).  The text is clipped from a story in today's Greenwire, an
online environmental news service.  It concerns a House Armed Services
Committee hearing on Vieques.


      Rep. Jim Hansen (R-Utah) said cleaning up the Navy's mess at Vieques
would be too expensive. He said he may instead favor a push to designate the
area as an undeveloped wilderness area. In a recent National Public Radio
interview, Hansen said of the Puerto Rican natives, "They sit down there on
welfare, and very few of them paying taxes, got a sweetheart deal" (Lee
