California farms need protection from sprawl 

  California is expected to add 6 million new residents in the next 10 
years and much of this population will put pressure on the Central Valley and other 
agriculturally important regions. In order to prevent this population boom from devouring 
important agricultural lands, agricultural land trusts need to be established, according to an 
article in the May-June issue of California Agriculture.
