There is a model that will allow the redevelopment of Brownfield sites into school sites that takes into account several factors. This model includes remediation requirements, cost, insurance for all parties involved including the PRP, institutional controls and financing. I believe that the redevelopment of quality schools at Brownfield locations is wise policy and will address the social justice issues raised by the Brownfield in the first place. With that said, schools are only a small component of the redevelopment of a neighborhood. Housing, Economic Opportunity and Transportation are the remaining elements to the restoration of Urban= America. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To read CPEO's archived Brownfields messages visit http://www.cpeo.org/lists/brownfields If this email has been forwarded to you and you'd like to subscribe, please send a message to cpeo-brownfields-subscribe@igc.topica.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C A The Email You Want. http://www.topica.com/t/16 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics | |
