Brownfields law called toothless By Andrew Conte, Post staff reporter Cincinnati Post 1-22-01 Ohio's voluntary brownfields cleanup program, designed to let owners clean up their property without fear of penalty, gives polluters too much leeway and carries almost no enforcement mechanism, according to a study released today by the Green Environmental Coalition. State regulators who are supposed to oversee the Volunteer Action Program have too few resources either to provide meaningful oversight or identify polluters, said Bruce Cornett, who wrote the report.
