The National Association of Local Government Environmental Professionals
(NALGEP) and the Northeast-Midwest Center are organizing a Brownfield
Communities Network Summit in Washington DC from June 2 to June 4th. 

The following description is from NALGEP:

FIRST ANNUAL BROWNFIELD COMMUNITIES NETWORK SUMMIT
On June 2-4, 2004 experienced and new brownfield leaders will gather 
for the first annual Brownfield Communities Network Summit in
Washington, DC. Please join us to share your experiences, explore common
obstacles, learn about new brownfield redevelopment approaches, and
communicate the views of localities to local leaders.

The Summit will feature interactive peer-to-peer discussions on pressing

issues facing localities: 
*	Redeveloping Railfields
*	Cleaning up and Renewing Salvage Yards
*	Strategies for Small Sites
*	Local Government Acquisition of Brownfield Properties
*	Brownfields Funding and Financing
*	Conducting All Appropriate Inquiry 
*	Community Involvement
*	Redeveloping Sites with Petroleum Contamination
*	Redeveloping Brownfields in Small and Rural Communities
The Summit will provide opportunities to learn more about:
 *	EPA and Congress '  brownfield priorities
 *	Working with the private sector
 *	Financing brownfields redevelopment
 Invited speakers include:
 *	Administrator Leavitt, Environmental Protection Agency
 *	Assistant Administrator Marianne Horinko, Environmental
Protection Agency
 *	Secretary Alfonso Jackson, Department of Housing & Urban
Development
 *	Senator Lincoln Chafee
