Bic accused as source of toxins Unnamed workers cite Caswell Cove problems Dirk Perrefort The Connecticut Post July 14, 2004 MILFORD An anonymous e-mail sent to state Rep. James Amann, D-Milford, claims that dumping on Bic Corp. property may be responsible for contamination at Caswell Cove. Amann mentioned the e-mail Wednesday during a meeting of state Department of Environmental Protection officials and residents of the condominium complex. ... Meanwhile, DEP released the latest test results of the trichloroethylene contamination found at the complex. The results show that TCE levels have decreased in soil surrounding the four buildings where ventilation systems have been installed. "It shows that our systems are working," said Graham Stevens, a DEP environmental analyst. The ventilation systems were installed in April and are designed to dissipate TCE gases in soil underneath the buildings.
