No connection found to courthouse air problem AEE releases air testing results By By Amy Hillenburg Mooresville/Decatur Times (IN) August 18, 2004 MARTINSVILLE - Astbury Environmental Engineering, Inc. recently conducted air sampling at a number of buildings, in and around the Martinsville square, in compliance with an Environmental Protection Agency order. The testing is another step in the county government?s efforts to clean up air problems that stem from a former dry cleaning business downtown. Prior to the round of air testing done this summer, buildings and homes in a compact area on the west side of the square had been checked for potentially harmful vapors. Cleanup already is under way at some sites following results of those tests. The dry cleaning business, Masterwear, was located at 28-1/2 N. Main St. While the business has been gone for years, chemicals the business used have been found to be the cause of air contamination problems. The Martinsville Reporter-Times office was among the new locations selected for additional testing and canisters were used to test the air in the Reporter building at 60 S.
