Subject: | [CPEO-BIF] BRAC list to be released Friday |
Today (Friday, May 13), the Defense Department is releasing its 2005
list of proposed installation realignments and closures. As that list
goes to the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission for review,
many affected host communities will fight to reverse the Pentagon's
proposal. Now is the time, however, to start focusing on cleanup,
transfer, and reuse. To enable all stakeholder groups to keep track of BRAC, CPEO has created the INSTALLATION REUSE FORUM listserve. It provides comprehensive daily coverage of developments in military base closure, cleanup, transfer, and reuse. To see what you have been missing, go to http://www.cpeo.org/pipermail/installation_reuse_forum/. For a free, one-month trial subscription, send an e-mail to <cpeo@cpeo.org> with "IRF Sub" in the subject line. Please note your affiliation, and indicate whether you would prefer to receive each message individually, or have them collected in the once-daily digest. Near the end of the one-month trial period, CPEO will send out subscription notices. -- Lenny Siegel Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight c/o PSC, 278-A Hope St., Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650/961-8918 or 650/969-1545 Fax: 650/961-8918 http://www.cpeo.org
