Emerson announces results of TCE contamination testsJENNIE DALEY Ithaca Journal (NY) May 13, 2005 ITHACA -- In a press release sent out Thursday afternoon, Emerson Power Transmission announced that 35 of the 57 homes they have tested for traces of trichloroethene, or TCE, require no further action. This decision was reached through consultation with the New York State Departments of Health and Environmental Conservation, according to the release. No state officials were available for comment Thursday evening. A map provided by Emerson showed that of the remaining 22 homes, 10 will undergo another round of testing. Of those, nine are sited off of South Hill Terrace and one is on West Spencer Street. The remainder are either waiting for recently authorized letters to be sent or are still being assessed, according to Emily Tzinberg, an Emerson spokesperson. ...
