HILLCREST -- State health officials are proposing that ventilation
systems be installed in approximately 70 properties in the center of the
community to eliminate chemical gases from subterranean pollution,
according to records from the state Department of Environmental
Conservation.

The properties in question include a library and school offices and a
toddler play center.

The unofficial tally is based on maps of areas affected by the pollution

Officials from the state departments of Environmental Conservation and
Health will be available to answer questions at a 7 p.m. meeting June 23
at the Chenango Valley Middle School and High School auditorium on
Bridge Road.
