Ferndale OKs Brownfield development By Michael P. McConnell Royal Oak Daily Tribune (MI) November 15, 2005 FERNDALE - The developer who plans to build a $30 million condominium and retail complex was granted a $1.4 million Brownfield Redevelopment tax break following a public hearing Monday. The City Council voted unanimously to approve the tax abatement for Woodward Avenue Lofts, which was recommended by the city's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Under state Brownfield law, developers become eligible for such tax breaks when they clean up contaminated sites for development. ...
