City officially wraps up Brunswick workBy Matt Courter Olney Daily Mail (IL) November 29, 2005 Olney City Council approved a modified proposed agreement to terminate the environmental escrow agreement at its meeting Monday, effectively ending the cleanup project at the former Brunswick property. The council approved the agreement at its last meeting, but due to some changes, it was again brought before the city. City Attorney Larry Taylor said there are still some outstanding bills from the Environmental Protection Agency and remediation consultant Malcom Pirnie that should not total more than $10,000, leaving approximately $900,000 in an escrow account established for the cleanup. The city will get what is left in the account after a couple outstanding bills are paid. It will also get funds left in a Brownfields Grant account. City Attorney Larry Taylor estimates the city could receive approximately $1.1 million. ...
