Successful environmental cleanup achieved at Boonville brownfield Boonville Daily News (MO) December 5, 2005 JEFFERSON CITY - The Department of Natural Resources has issued certificates of completion for 14 new Brownfields/Voluntary Cleanup Program (BVCP) sites. Brownfields are abandoned or underused industrial or commercial sites, located primarily in urban area, that are either contaminated or thought to be contaminated. Through the BVCP, private parties agree to clean up a contaminated site and are offered some protection from future state and federal enforcement action at the site in the form of a ?No Further Action? letter or ?Certificates of Completion? from the state. A Certificate of Completion was issued for the AmerenUE Boonville Service Facility/Boonville Former Manufactured Gas Plant in Boonville. The cleanup certificate for the site addressed soil and groundwater contaminated with carcinogenic coal tar constituents. ...
