Student study finds decline in toxin By Jennifer Huberdeau North Adams Transcript (MA) December 9, 2005 NORTH ADAMS - When Mount Holyoke student Skye Marcovicci came to the city to research the contamination sites left behind by Sprague Electric, she was told by a Harding Avenue resident about the trucks full of barrels that used to drive down an access road to the Fairgrounds Avenue dump. Those barrels, which were eventually buried behind the company's Brown Street facility, would later to be found to contain a liquid trichloroethylene mixture ? a toxic chemical. Marcovicci, who presented the findings with five other students of Mount Holyoke College professor Emily Monosson's class, showed pictures of the contamination sites from around the West End of the city. About 15 people attended the presentation Thursday evening at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. ...
