Cleanup may give new life to vacant Roseville property Bank, fast food restaurant or storage facility expected on site Christina Stolarz Detroit News January 22, 2006 ROSEVILLE -- City officials are excited that vacant property on Groesbeck south of 12 Mile soon may get new life through a brownfield redevelopment plan. Developer Groesbeck Martin is working with the county's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority to clean up a portion of the 5.3-acre former concrete-crushing site to possibly make way for a bank, fast food restaurant or storage facility. Roseville doesn't have a formal brownfield redevelopment authority, but city officials may consider establishing one of their own, depending on how well this project fares and if the city receives more proposals, said City Manager Stephen A. Truman. It was the first viable brownfield project that came before the city, he said. The property has been vacant for 1 1/2 years and was considered a nuisance because of the amount of noise and dust created from the concrete crushing, he said. ...
