Doyle announces $1.7M for brownfield clean-upsGreen Bay Press-Gazette (WI) March 3, 2006 MADISON — Gov. Jim Doyle recently announced grants totaling $1.7 million to clean up contaminated, abandoned and underused properties, also called brownfields, across the state. The cleanup and safe reuse of brownfields properties are priorities under the governor's Conserve Wisconsin plan. The Brownfields Site Assessment Grants program, administered through the Department of Natural Resources, grants local governments seed money for demolition, environmental assessments and removal of abandoned tanks and containers. ...
