Lifton bill would speed TCE test resultsBy ROGER DuPUIS II Ithaca Journal (NY) April 10, 2006 ITHACA — State legislation proposed by Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton, D-125th, last week would reduce the turnaround time for the results of trichloroethylene (TCE) testing in homes. "My bill requires test results in one month instead of two, which will help allay residents' concerns," Lifton said. ... Introduction of Lifton's bill is the latest step in a process announced by the Ithaca Democrat and other lawmakers in February, driven by the conclusions of the committee's report on vapor intrusion. That report was based on committee research and three public hearings held around the state in late 2004 and the spring of 2005, including one in Ithaca. ...
