Trail dedication fits another piece into redevelopment of brownfield
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a part of the Kalamazoo River Valley Trailway was an important step toward revitalizing Kalamazoo's riverfront, Mayor Hannah McKinney said. The Jack Coombs Trail, along the west bank of the Kalamazoo River near Gull and Harrison streets, officially opened Thursday. The trail is part of a plan to create a pedestrian-friendly area that is "sort of an extension of downtown," said Martha Aills, a special projects coordinator for the Community Planning and Development Department. ...
