Ground Broken On Region's Newest AttractionPittsburgh Channel August 8, 2006 ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. -- A ceremonial groundbreaking was held Tuesday at the future site of the Botanic Garden of Western Pennsylvania. A garden of trees, flowers and other regionally hardy plants will be created on 452 acres of an old brownfield site at Settler's Cabin Park in North Fayette and Collier townships. Representatives from the Horticultural Society of Western Pennsylvania estimate that the garden will attract 300,000 visitors a year. ...
