Old Ironsides property sale finalized

A long-standing Fond du Lac County blight will soon be out of sight.

On Tuesday, Fond du Lac County finalized the sale of the former 
Ironsides Battery property west of Campbellsport. The property has been 
vacant since 1990.

Brownsville's West Bend Machine Works bought the former brownfield 
property for $119,000, Fond du Lac County Executive Allen Buechel said.

"We've been dealing with various aspects of the Ironsides site for well 
over a decade, so to see this come to such a productive conclusion is 
very gratifying," Buechel said in a Fond du Lac County Economic 
Development Corporation news release.
