TCE testing continues on South HillBy Jennie Daley Ithaca Journal (NY) November 9, 2006 ITHACA - A fifth round of testing, which added the Ithaca Police Department Headquarters and the Ithaca City Court to its purview, is under way this fall on South Hill. Located downhill from the former Morse Chain plant — now owned by Emerson Power Transmission — homes on South Hill have been tested for chemicals including tricholorethene, or TCE, a likely carcinogen, over the past two years. This latest round, which started in October, will re-examine 18 homes tested in Phase IV and add the two city properties to its scope. At the police department, Chief Lauren Signer said the headquarters had not been tested yet but was expected to be soon. ...
