The author of the original article did not meet with members of ALDOT. The author of the editorial did meet with them and presents a much more realistic view of the project. Editorial Plume proposal protects public It is refreshing when a governmental agency accepts responsibility for a problem and works openly and aggressively to deal with it. That is what the Alabama Department of Transportation appears to have done with the Coliseum Boulevard Plume, an area of contaminated groundwater in north Montgomery. And the department appears to be taking that same approach with new developments involving the plume.
