West Front Street Development For $5.5M, shoppers would only get 30 spaces in deck By Brian McGillivary Traverse City Record-Eagle (MI) March 25, 2007TRAVERSE CITY - Grand Traverse County's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority is prepared to commit $5.5 million to add 30 parking spaces for the general public in Traverse City. Another 186 public parking spaces will be reserved for annual permit parking to serve office, restaurant and retail employees of two projects proposed by Federated Properties at 145 and 124 W. Front St. And though the brownfield authority may end up owning a portion of a proposed parking deck at 145 W. Front St., it's not their goal to provide parking, authority members said. "There has to be a starter project on the western border of the city or that part of town is just going to sit there,” said authority board member Peter Zirnhelt. "This is the start and it needs parking.” ...
