West Endicott TCE tests to begin DEC seeking pollutant's source By Tom Wilber Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin (NY) August 20, 2007A new round of TCE testing scheduled to begin this week will attempt to pinpoint the source of pollution flowing into a well-tended neighborhood of single-family homes in West Endicott and the Town of Union. Officials from the state Department of Environmental Conservation said Friday they could not be sure if trichloroethylene (TCE) was flowing into the June Street area from two known industrial sites along a rail corridor about a quarter mile to the south, or whether another source was to blame. Known TCE sites nearby include a defunct electronics manufacturing plant at 312 Maple St. and the former Canada Dry bottling plant at the north end of Badger Avenue. ...
