Old dry-cleaning site gets thumbs-up by DEQ By John Mott Coffey Columbus Dispatch (MS) October 20, 2007JACKSON -- State environmental regulators have approved a remediation plan for the Starkville site of an old dry-cleaning business contaminated by chemicals. Located at a shopping center on state Highway 12, the property is not a hazard to the general public, said Jerry Banks of the state Department of Environmental Quality's Office of Pollution Control. "The contamination is limited to the property in question, and our evaluation is that it will not leave the property," Banks said. ...
