Pulver to join contamination suit By NICK REISMAN Glens Falls Post-Star (NY) November 1, 2007Last year, Fort Edward Town Supervisor Merrilyn Pulver argued that the property values of more than 100 homeowners shouldn’t be lowered, despite the fact that they live in homes contaminated by a harmful chemical released by General Electric Co. But this week, Pulver announced that the town will join 42 of the residents in a lawsuit against the company and plans to file court documents in the next few days. The residents had argued their property taxes should be significantly reduced because an underground plume of trichloroethylene (TCE) had seeped into the soil around their homes. TCE is a chemical solvent used to clean machinery at the GE plant on Route 4. ...
