Agency OKs $1.8M for MRH cleanup Funds to help with razing and redevelopment at McKnight Drive site. By Ed Richter Middletown Journal (OH) October 31, 2007MIDDLETOWN - A second try paid off for the Butler County Port Authority on Tuesday as the Clean Ohio Revitalization Council reconsidered its July decision. The state agency awarded $1.8 million to help with the demolition and brownfield cleanup of the soon-to-be vacated Middletown Regional Hospital. The offices of Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and state Rep. Steve Driehaus, D-Cincinnati, announced the award, pending approval of the state Controlling Board. The port authority will use the funds for the demolition and remediation activities on the McKnight Drive campus. Future site plans include the construction of 46 to 70 market rate housing units and the removal of 110 tons of contaminated soils, according to Fisher's release. ...
