The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to approve the
remediation of a brownfield located on Echo Lake Road during their
regular meeting on Wednesday, January 3. The applicant, Echo Lake
Brownfield LLC, would like to remediate a 22-acre parcel of land with
the hope that they may one day use the area for industrial purposes,
since it is located in an IR-80 zone. The parcel is adjacent to the CRRA
Transfer Station on the north side of Echo Lake Road.

Engineer Ted Crawford, speaking on behalf of the applicant, said that
the remediation plan put forth will include moving 2,000 to 5,000 cubic
yards of soil off-site. In turn, clean fill will subsequently be brought
to the site to "support future development," according to Mr. Crawford.
