P&Z approves brownfield remediation By Tom Burns Watertown Town Times (CT) January 10, 2008 The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to approve the remediation of a brownfield located on Echo Lake Road during their regular meeting on Wednesday, January 3. The applicant, Echo Lake Brownfield LLC, would like to remediate a 22-acre parcel of land with the hope that they may one day use the area for industrial purposes, since it is located in an IR-80 zone. The parcel is adjacent to the CRRA Transfer Station on the north side of Echo Lake Road. Engineer Ted Crawford, speaking on behalf of the applicant, said that the remediation plan put forth will include moving 2,000 to 5,000 cubic yards of soil off-site. In turn, clean fill will subsequently be brought to the site to "support future development," according to Mr. Crawford. ...
