Pumping system to keep contaminated water from leaving Wyle site By ALICIA ROBINSON Riverside Press-Enterprise (CA) January 17, 2008 A pumping system designed to keep contaminated water from leaving the Wyle Laboratories property in Norco may begin operation by the end of the week, state officials said Thursday. Tests by the state Department of Toxic Substances Control have found contaminants such as trichloroethylene -- known as TCE -- in groundwater on and near the site, which was operated as a product-testing lab from 1959 to 2004. ... State officials previously ordered the installation of ventilation equipment in two nearby homes, where TCE contamination was found. Contaminants also were found in soil and groundwater at Hillside and Third avenues. ...
