Solar dreams: 'Brightfield' seen for old Hampton dump Hampton applies to be part of study By Patrick Cronin Portsmouth Herald News (NH) March 23, 2008 HAMPTON - The Hampton Energy Committee would like to see the town's old dump turned into an environmentally friendly "green field." Ann Carnaby, chairwoman of the energy committee, says when she looks at the capped dump on Hardardt's Way, she sees a big opportunity to save energy. The old capped dump takes up 25 acres of a 48-acre that includes the town's skateboard park, volleyball court, transfer station and wastewater treatment facility. "What our dream is, is to be able to have enough solar and wind collectors on that property in order to supply the energy to run the transfer station and wastewater treatment plant," Carnaby said. ...
