Firm to evaluate options for former Menasha mill site By Michael King Appleton Post-Crescent (WI) April 14, 2008 MENASHA - A Reedsburg firm will help evaluate shoreline, park and recreational opportunities, including a potential whitewater course or kayak park, at the 12-acre former Gilbert Paper mill redevelopment site. Vierbicher Associates Inc. will provide consulting engineering services to the city under a $50,000 agreement that is contingent upon receipt of a $25,000 state Department of Commerce planning grant. Ultimately, the owners and developer of the former mill site intend to donate about two acres of Fox River shoreline to the city for public use. But first, the former paper mill, which closed in late 2001, will have to be demolished. ...
