Firm to evaluate options for former Menasha mill site

MENASHA - A Reedsburg firm will help evaluate shoreline, park and
recreational opportunities, including a potential whitewater course or
kayak park, at the 12-acre former Gilbert Paper mill redevelopment site.

Vierbicher Associates Inc. will provide consulting engineering services
to the city under a $50,000 agreement that is contingent upon receipt of
a $25,000 state Department of Commerce planning grant.

Ultimately, the owners and developer of the former mill site intend to
donate about two acres of Fox River shoreline to the city for public
use. But first, the former paper mill, which closed in late 2001, will
have to be demolished.
