M.P. board OKs redevelopment plan for corner

Mt. Pleasant city commissioners approved a Brownfield redevelopment plan 
for the corner of East Preston and South Mission streets Monday night.

Redeveloping the corner where a fire burned The Store and Pizza King 
last fall is expected to increase the value of the corner by $3.3 million.

Bobenal Investments Inc. wants to put a $4.4 million three-story 
building on the two parcels located on the southwest corner where the 
former Pizza King and the Hip-Hop Shop retail store used to be.

Bobenal has submitted a plan requesting tax capture under the rules of 
the Brownfield Redevelopment Act to remove the three structures.
