German auto supplier may expand Brighton plant By Tom Tolen The Livingston Community News (MI) June 6, 2008Eberspaecher North America, a major German-owned automotive supplier, wants to expand and retool its Brighton plant with a $50 million investment, but first needs help from the city and state. ...Berry said ENA would need a Brownfield plan resolution by the city's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Board and the City Council which, if approved by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation would enable the company to obtain state of Michigan business tax credits. That, coupled with a requested 12-year property tax abatement from the city, "will facilitate this investment," Berry said in the letter. Foster said testing done at the site, which abuts the existing plant, show "trace levels of metals" that qualify it as a Brownfield site but would not require cleanup. ...
