$1.2 million cleanup begins in Upper Hanover By Evan Brandt Pottstown Mercury (PA) July 8, 2008UPPER HANOVER - A $1.2 million cleanup of a site contaminated with TCE and cadmium is set to begin this week, according to state officials.
A 3.79-acre site off Spring Valley Road is known to officials of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection as the Macoby Creek Hazardous Cleanup Site.
But from the 1950s to the 1970s it was known as VA Savarese Plating, said Lynda Rebarchak, a spokeswoman for the DEP's Southeast Regional Office in Norristown.
...There is a buyer interested in redeveloping the site, Rebarchak said, which is one reason the DEP decided to move ahead with the cleanup.
