City trying to clean up site of factory By LESLIE BIXLER Fremont News Messenger (OH) August 8, 2008FREMONT -- The city is taking a step to try and clean up an east side neighborhood that has been the site of a vacant factory for the past four years. City council members passed an ordinance Thursday night that allows Mayor Terry Overmyer to file an application for the Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund. Obtaining the grant would allow the Clauss Cutlery property to be cleaned up. The site is located on Pine Street. Dan Brown, president of Partners Environmental of Solon, and Joseph Koncelik, an attorney representing ALCO Industries, were at the council meeting to discuss the property's redevelopment project. ...
