Ambler project to clean asbestos gets $4 million

By Kristin E. Holmes
August 22, 2008

A redevelopment project that will transform the contaminated site of an abandoned asbestos factory in Ambler into condominiums and office space received a $4 million boost today from the state.

The grant from the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will help fund efforts to clean up the site in preparation for construction of the 288-unit Crossings at Ambler condo complex and Boiler House office building.

Gov. Rendell announced the grant award in front of the site, former headquarters of the Keasbey & Mattison manufacturing plant.
