Appalachian Brewing to lease new parking lot in Harrisburg By Eric Veronikis Central Penn Business Journal (PA) September 10, 2008A building in Harrisburg will be demolished to make way for a parking lot that neighboring Appalachian Brewing Co. (ABC) will lease, representatives of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corp. (CREDC) said this afternoon.
...The property has been abandoned since 2005. It is considered a brownfield site, Black said. Environmental-assessment work has started inside the building, and demolition should begin within a month, he said. The project will cost about $1 million and should last about three to four months.
The building is the former home of the Chas. D. Snyder & Son Inc. electric-plating business. Snyder and others did business in the facility for about 80 years.
