City extends purchase option on land Tammie Sloup Ottawa Times (IL) September 18, 2008A purchase option for land Ottawa officials are eyeing for a possible location for a public works complex has been extended to Wednesday, Dec. 31.
The city previously entered into an option to purchase seven acres at the far west end of Superior Street on the city's West Side. The option cost $4,000 to "tie up" the property for 90 days as the city considers purchasing the land for $250,000.
The land is an industrial site, and the hope is to utilize brownfield grants recently awarded to the city to conduct an environmental study.
...The property is owned by Advanced Asphalt and previously was La Salle County Asphalt.
